The Backbone

Sheep

We raise St. Croix and Katahdin, which are both breeds of hair sheep. Because they are a hair type rather than a wool breed, they naturally shed their coats in the spring, which eliminates the need for shearing. This also means their meat has a much milder, cleaner flavor than what most people typically expect from traditional lamb, making it a delicious and approachable choice for a family dinner.

Cattle

While there is a long history of cattle on this land, we reintroduced a small herd to the farm in 2025. We raise Galloways, which are a hardy, compact breed well-suited to our pastures. They are known for producing beef that is naturally well-marbled, highly flavorful, and lean. Right now, we only have breeding cows, so it will be a little while before we have beef available for sale, but we think it will be well worth the wait.

The staple

Chicken

The chicken we raise are Cornish Cross, which is the most common chicken raised for meat by both the commercial poultry industry and back yard producers.
Their muscular frame provides the large, tender white breast meat consumers are accustomed to from grocery stores.

The holiday showstopper

Turkey

Broad Breasted Whites are the breed we raise for our holiday turkeys. They are the classic choice for a family feast because they are known for producing an abundance of tender white breast meat. By raising them locally with plenty of space to move around, they develop a cleaner, richer flavor and stay naturally juicy when cooked—making for a much more flavorful meal than a standard store-bought bird.
